I had a few spray paint cans laying around and while I was drifting off into a daydream, I noticed that the shape of a can was very similar to that of a lighthouse. I began sketching a few concepts based off of that and eventually settled on making a giant spray can a lighthouse but instead of light being emitted from the lighthouse, it would be paint.
I dug through my travel photos hoping to find pieces that could work for this concept. Fortunately I had a bunch of photos from a shoot I did in Thailand during sunset. Even more fortunately, one of the photos had a cloud formation that looked exactly like it was being blown in one direction. The perfect fit.
The lighthouse itself was made by using a real spray can which I spray painted white. I placed it into the landscape photo and overlaid details from an actual lighthouse.
