Hearing a lot of talk lately about social media addiction and the links it has to mental health. I think social media is an incredible, powerful tool, but too much of it can be destructive. These apps are designed to be addictive, designed to have you check in regularly. It creates this social validation feedback loop giving you little hits of dopamine every time you check back in, the same chemical in the brain released when you smoke or drink. Over time, this develops habits that form addictions. Balance is the key. Own social media accounts, don’t let them own you.
